CEBU to BACOLOD / BACOLOD to CEBU

Updated as of April 10, 2015

Travelling from Cebu to Bacolod / Bacolod to Cebu have daily trips for both plane and sea except on unfavorable weather condition. If you will choose to travel by plane, airport is located in Lapu-Lapu City (Mactan International Airport) for Cebu and in Silay City (New Bacolod-Silay airport) for Negros Occidental.

But if you decided to travel by sea, there are several options that you can consider.

1. Taking a Bus for direct trip from Cebu to Bacolod or vice-versa
Terminal in Cebu is North Bus Terminal, while in Bacolod is Sambok Terminal if via Don Salvador and North Bus Terminal if via Escalante and Tabuelan. Direct Trip is less hassle especially you have lots of belongings. Example if you're from Bacolod, from there bus will go directly to the port and will board on a ferry. All passengers in a bus are guaranteed to have ferry ticket. Once arrived to the other port, bus will travel going to Cebu North Bus Terminal.

Below is the CERES Bus Liner Schedule and Rate.

  12. Hi John, we're planning to go to Bacolod next weekend. I believe we'll get there a lot faster if we take the cutting trip style, right? Let's say for example, we leave at 10am here in Cebu, what time do you think will we arrive in Bacolod?

    1. Hi, apology for the late response. It may vary but travel time for cutting and direct trip is "almost" the same. If you plan to go to Bacolod City I suggest you take via Don Salvador cause it will only take you 2-3 hours travel time from San Carlos City unlike via Escalante, estimated travel time is 3-5 hours to Bacolod City.

Best way to commute is via taxi or van rental. Guests can also take a jeep from Burgos Market, Bacolod going to Brgy. Alangilan then tricycle going to Campuestohan Highland Resort.

  46. Hi
Sorry to sound a bit stupid but it is our 1st time coming to the Philippines and websites are not very informative. Thanks for all the hard work you put into giving this info to travellers, much appreciated! My questions:
Is there any ferry company from Bacolod to Cebu that uses ONLY the ferry? (No bus ride?).
Scenery wise, do you recommend the bus plus ferry trip or only ferry
    Thanks again
